De Quarto Vitivinicoltori

De Quarto Apulia Negroamaro Primitivo Wine

De Quarto family passes down from 5 generations the authentic winemaking tradition in Primitivo land, and they have now integrated it with organic and natural practices. The 20 hectares of the property, close to the Ionian Sea, are cultivated only with native grapes and the winemaking is still made in the traditional palmento (millstone).

The vines grows with the typical alberello pugliese shape (Apulian little-tree) in red, chalky, and sunny soils. The yields are extremely low and the bunches are carefully hand-picked and selected during the harvest.

In the cellar, traditional and modern techniques, such as spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and natural vinification and sharpening, cooperate to create fine wines, with authentic character and natural quality.
